The Spirit in which is spoken of in this text of that of the Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of God, whom has come down and taken root within each one of us. This then is the Spirit we are urged to walk in and live by daily in order to keep at bay the lustful desires of the flesh.
Our flesh is that of Failure or Kachash; when walking in the flesh we are literally walking in the state of failure an figuratively in the state of hypocrisy! Therefore it is detrimental for us to walk in God's word which entail will allow us to walk in the spirit. With that we are able to face all temptation of the flesh and thwart off the devils plans.
Application:To walk in the flesh is to be a walking failure, yet if we are to constantly seek God's face and stay in his word and presence being ministered unto by the Holy Spirit our sins will be that much easier to face. So finally Brothers & Sisters allow not your flesh overcome the battle between it and the Holy Spirit, yet succumb unto the will of God and Live!
